Professional Diploma in Financial Planning (Aug 2009 - Dec 2009)
Public awareness in financial planning has grown rapidly in recent years. With the outburst of Global Financial Crisis in October 2008, benefit of client and financial governance suddenly comes top on the list of priorities. This knowledge can best be learned through special programs offered by the HKRFP.
Upcoming HKRFP public examination will be held in December of this year in Hong Kong. Candidates for the exams should enroll on or before Nov. 15, 2009. Enrolment forms and exam details are posted at the HKRFP office and on its official website (www.hkrfp.org). To assist candidates in the preparation for the exams, the Society is now offering program "Professional Diploma in Financial Planning (°]°Èµ¦¹º±M·~¤å¾Ì)" from 09 August to 05 December of 2009 and designed for all Hong Kong finance practitioners who wish to take a lead in knowledge and skills. It covers the hard-knowledge in finance, insurance, investment and taxation, and soft skills, such as positive thinking and effective communication, which will optimize the professional standard as well as help to build long term relationship with clients. Program will be conducted by qualified veterans in Cantonese. Participants, with success in the HKRFP public examinations and through formal application, will be awarded the HKRFP Certificate and relevant memberships of the Canadian NLP Academy and the ABNLP.

Classes in the afternoon (1:30 ¨C 5:30 pm) or evening (6:30 ¨C 9:30 pm) will be cancelled if : - (a) typhoon signal no.8 or above or black rain signal remain hoisted at, or
(b) the HK Observatory announces typhoon no.8 or black rain signal will be hoisted at/after.the following time: 11:00 am and 4:00 pm respectively.
Students will be notified when the class will be made up.
2.Applications will be accepted on as first-come-first-served basis. The Academy of Registered Financial Planners reserves the right to make changes as appropriate regarding the arrangements of program instructions, contents, timetables or venues. Enrolled applicants will fully be refunded in case of cancellation or termination.
The Academy of HKRFP also launched Challenged Exam Mode to help students to completed the examinations.
The results of 6th Hong Kong Financial Planners of the year Award 2008
This was the 6th annual event of HKRFP and being the poineer in organizing Award to honour and recognize the professionalism of financial planners. The Award Chairman Mr. Michael Fan announced the winners for the 6th Hong Kong Financial Planners of the year Award at The Mira Hotel on November 27 2008. The Awards were presented by Guests of Honour: The Hon Paul CHAN Mo-po MH, JP member of Legislative Councillor (Accountancy); Sir David AKERS-JONES GBM KBE JP, Patron of Society of Registered Financial Planners (HKRFP); Mr. Felix Lau , Vice President and Head of Sales & Distribution of CITIC Ka Wah Bank; Mr. Jones Lam, Vice President and Head of Financial Planning of American International Assurance (Bermuda) Limited and Mr Quincy Wong, Chief Executive Officer of Convoy Financial Group.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountantds (ICMA) has organized a networking visit to Nanhai Government officials, the objective to provide an opportunity for members and students members of CIMA, CMA Certified Management Accountants (CMA Canada), HKRFP and AWAHK (The Association of Women Associations) to understand Nanhai serves as financial center support for Guangzhou and Shenzhen, meet Nanhai Government official to seek business opportunities and network among fellow members and associations. During the trip, the delegates were well received with officials and enjoy excellent food (especially selected by Nanhai officials) and sightseeing of Nanhai. It was just relaxed, learning and business network.
The 6th Annual Hong Kong Financial Planner of the Year Award press conference was held on August 06 2008 to kick off the event. As you may aware, our Society (HKRFP) is the pioneer to provide an open platform for all financial planners from any professional designations in Hong Kong to compete for this prestigious award in financial planning.

The Outstanding Financial Planning Award for Hong Kong Undergraduates 2007
The Outstanding Financial Planning Award for Hong Kong Undergraduates 2007 was organised by American International Group to raise the awareness of the financial planning industry among students. This inter-university financial planning award has received overwhelming response from students of the seven (7) participanting local universities. Prof. Joseph Sin represented HKRFP as a Judge for the competition.

Professional Diploma in Financial Planning - Intake 11 - July 2007 -Organised by HKPC
The intake 11 of the program prepares participants for the professional examinations offered by the Society. This practical program is also suitable for SMEs' executives and individuals for improving competency in financial and investment planning.
It will be started from July 2007.

University of Internatioal Business and Economics - Beijing is one of China's leading centers for the study and research of international trade and finance. Guangsi University launched HKRFP Professional Diploma program
The Society has authorised Guangsi University as one of HKRFP's training providers in China. Guangsi University will launch HKRFP's professional Diploma program and students will participate in December 2006 examinations. Welcome to HKRFP members in Guangsi.
The Recognition of Financial Planners Index press release was held at Baptist University on August 30 2006: ¡AChinese press release; ¡AEnglish press release. This year the Index is increased by 5. The current Index is 43.4. This year we focused the study on Hong Kong retirement affairs and updated last years finding.

There was an graduation ceremony held on July 14 2006 at South China University of Technology. The graduates were very happy to receive the diploma for their hard work and recognition.
Broadcasting Programme of Financial Education Course for Elderly
The Society has co-operate with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Healthy Budgeting Family Debt Counselling Centre to cultivate healthy budgeting and investment values to family and elderly through a series of financial education programmes including community exhibition, financial talks and educational groups. There will be a series of Broading Programme of financial education and talks for Elderly at the Radio Television Hong Kong in Augest and September 2006.
A Kick off ceremony will be organised at the Assembly Hall of the Radio Television Hong KOng on Friday, 18 August 2006 2:30 p.m.
New Syllabus
The current Syllabus has been used for examinastions since the Society was established, a new designed syllabus was compiled by Dr. Clement WONG to enhance current syllabus with updated knowledge and current information related to financial planning to meet the dynamic market. Thank you to Clement Wong for his voluntarily hard work. The new syllabus task force committee was formed and leaded by Mr. Stephen HO to implement this new syllabus. The time frame for implementation will be announanced later, as it will affect candidates sitting the Society's examinations. Luncheon with Dr. The Hon Leo Tung Hai LEE
Having a luncheon meeting with our patron Dr. The Hon Leo LEE on 1st August 2006, the management team of the Society has reported the current status of the Society, discussed future directions of the Society and the impact about the proposed GST to financial planning.

Extra-ordinary General Meeting - July 21 2005
The Society's Extra-ordinary General Meeting has been held successfully on 21 July 2005 4:00 pm at 23/Floor Man Yee Building, 68 Des Voeux Road Central, Central, Hong Kong and the following business were resolved:

Citic Ka Wah Bank graduates
Citic Ka Wah Bnak, one of the corporate member of RFP, has conducted the financial planners program for their staff. On April 08 2005, Ms Lorainne Lam, Executive Vice President, Mr. Felix Lau, Senior Vice President of Citic Ka Wah Bank presented certificates to Citic Ka Wah Bank Intake 2 graduates. Mr. Albert Wong presented prizes to three top score students, Fung Suki - Financial Planning, Ho Siu Lung - Tax Planning, and Tong Shui Yau - Best Practices for Financial Planners, each of them have got a cash prize of $1,000.
